Introduction to Hardscape - Outdoor Furniture

Outdoor furniture refers to the furniture which is designed specifically for outdoor use. There are several types of outdoor furniture such as table & chairs, dining set, benches, swing, store (cabinet or storage for garden tools) and etc. Generally, outdoor furniture can be divided into two different categories: mobile outdoor furniture & permanently fixed furniture.

Considerations in choosing suitable outdoor furniture:

Climatic / Weather Resistant                          Quality and Durability, Maintenance
Appearance and Aesthetic Value                   Functionality / Types of Activity & Space
Types of Materials                                          Size and Weight
Safety                                                             Cost

Furniture that is selected for outdoors must stand the test of time as it is not frequently used. They should be able to withstand changing weather conditions while offering comfort and elegance. There should not be a fading of the appearance or reduced comfort level with quality furniture that is placed outdoors. On the other hand, different materials will possess different advantages and weaknesses due to the distinctive properties and characteristics. Sunlight is a very violent reactant that it bleaches certain materials especially darky colored ones. High humidity is another frequent problem for outdoor furniture as the increased moisture in the air will equal a higher likelihood of mold and mildew.

Introduction to Plant Group

Interested in Herbs, Spices & Food Plant ..? =)

For centuries Herbs and Spices have been an integral part of many of the world's great cuisines. The term "spices" is often used to include all seasonings.

Spices come from the bark, roots, leaves, stems, buds, seeds, or fruit of aromatic plants and trees which usually grow only in tropical countries. Pepper, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, ginger, saffron, and turmeric are spices.

Herbs are soft, succulent plants which usually grow in the temperate zone. Until recently cooks have had to make do with very few fresh herbs, such as sage, parsley, and thyme.

Nowadays we can also find fresh basil, coriander, chervil, tarragon, rosemary, and dill. Herbs-Treat and Taste is about herbs and spices and their uses in medicine and cookery. It gives recipes and information which enable people to have a healthier diet which can prevent certain illnesses and alleviate symptoms such as a cough, sore throat etc. Food Plant is define as a plant (as wheat, potato, cabbage) some part of which provides food for human consumption.
